Happy 1st Easter Benny!

Today we celebrated Ben's first Easter! He started the day getting dressed in his special Easter outfit that his mother picked out for him. He also wore the slippers his cousins Brinkley, Ava and Brock got for him (pictured below). We then went to brunch at Pivs where we encountered the Easter Bunny! Although Ben didn't sit in his lap we did get a picture taken with him. He didn't seem scared or all that interested. After that we returned home where we colored Easter eggs that you see pictured directly below. He did a good job, didn't he? Also below are pictures of Ben with his family and his doggy, Puggy. All in all, it was a great first Easter. We had a lot of fun! He can't wait for the next holiday!

9 Weeks Old!

Its Ben's 9-week birthday! It poured here in Baltimore yesterday so we thought this Frog/Aqua background was an appropriate backdrop to Ben's 9 Week picture. You know what they say...April showers bring...

Ben's Two Month Check-up

Brian is out of town this week on a business trip, so I am taking over the blogging duties today. Here is a picture of Ben in his bouncy seat at Gigi's house. He is very interested now in the hanging toys. He even laughs out loud!

On a personal note, I fit back into my pre-preggo jeans last weekend, which I am very excited about!

Ben and I visited Dr. LaRosa yesterday for his first round of vaccines. He cried very briefly when he got his three shots and stopped once he was safe in Mommy's arms again. He weighed in at 14 lbs 1/4 oz and measured 24 inches long. Although he is in the 97th and 90th percentiles, respectively, he is gaining weight appropriately. Most breastfed babies gain a lot of weight very quickly in the beginning, and then taper off after the first few months. His exam went well and the doctor said he is a healthy and handsome little boy!

Even though Ben was a trooper during his appointment, last night was a different story. Neither he nor Mommy got much sleep. Daddy thinks it is because he was having nightmares about needles! Hopefully tonight goes better!

8 Weeks (and a milestone!)

This week, Ben turned 8 weeks old. Literally, the first two months of his life flew before our very eyes. As sad as that is to think he is growing up faster than we would like, he reached an important milestone on his 8 week birthday. After his final feeding that night, we put Ben to bed at 10 pm. He slept without a peep until 7 am, when we had to wake him up! 9 hours of sleep! This was the first time he slept the entire night without waking up for a feeding. Imagine our excitement! Not only that, he did it again the following night! Two nights in a row of sleeping through the night! Here is our good little sleeper's 8 week picture:

Sneak Peek at Benny's Photoshoot (with a Professional!)

Last week, Ben had his first of four photoshoots that will occur during his first year. This was his "newborn" shoot although he was already 7 weeks old (we had a late start!) for his first session.
