October is gone already?

To all the faithful blog checkers out there (ahem, Mom), I have to apologize. I let October basically get away from me without posting Ben's weekly pictures. YES, I have been taking the pictures, but posting them has been a tough task. I have taken on some added responsibility at work and when I get home all I want to do is play with the Lil' B. After bedtime, me and the Mrs. make dinner and catch up on the DVR. Here are FOUR whole weeks of growth at once!

32 Weeks and a new tooth!

Ben cut his 3rd tooth this week. It was a painful upper, but it came through. It was even more painstaking for me to get him to give me a look at it for a picture. But as any good photographer will tell you, when the subject doesn't listen...stick your thumb in his lip. Ha ha! Ben is still giving his best shot at crawling, but he is still just scooting around. He is trying to move his arms independently, but its just not connecting with moving his legs. He is probably a week or two away from full-blown crawling.

Ben's Weekly Photos 30 and 31

Sorry to anyone who has been looking for Ben's latest pictures. I have been really busy and all I want to do when I get a free moment is play with Ben! He has been really active lately. He is not quite crawling yet. His "crawl" is an improvised version of the popular 1980's break dance moved known as "The Worm." I actually have it on video from last weekend. I am going to try an upload it an post it today or tomorrow. In other Ben news...he is cutting his 3rd tooth. He is getting his first "upper." It has been a little painful coming in. The other night we had to give him a dose of tylenol and numbing gel and he still didn't want to go to sleep. Good thing his mommy has the right touch and she was able to get him to go to sleep. Here are Ben's 30 and 31 Week photos. 30 was in honor of the opening week of football season. I couldn't get him to stay on his back long enough to take a picture. I told you he is active!!!

29 Weeks - Labor Day Picnic

This week Ben celebrated Labor Day with a cookout at Pop Pop and Gigi's house. He went swimming in the pool with Daddy and discovered that he loved to slap the water a lot. He didn't even mind that he was splashing himself in the face.

Ben's Six Month Photo Shoot

For Ben's third photo shoot, we decided to change up the scenery a little bit and headed over to my mom's house. He demonstrated his newly acquired skill of sitting up. Ben certainly loved being nudie on the carpet...luckily he didn't pee!

27 Weeks and 28 Weeks

One of Ben's favorite things is his chew toy Sophie the Giraffe. He loves biting her face these days. He also has a jungle sleep machine that simulates a jungle beat and the grunt of a giraffe. Here is Ben in his 27 week photo shoot "Rar'ing" like a lion. I replaced the previous sitting up photo from 27 Weeks. The new format proved more difficult than the old one. Luckily I took pictures of both.

In his 28 week photo, Ben was a little less enthusiastic. I think he was either in a food coma or we think he is getting some more teeth. He has been biting anything he can get his mouth on lately. Poor Sophie is lucky she is made of natural, resilient rubber!

Look Who's Kneeling!

This week for Ben's 26 Week (or what I like to call 6 months) picture, he did one of his new tricks! We all knew Ben has a strong upper body, but this week he learned how to push up onto his knees. He has even begun to rock a little, but hasn't quite figured out how to move his little apendages forward yet. If there is an object he desires in the vicinity, he gets onto his knees, rocks a few times and propels himself toward the object. If he doesn't land close enough he resets and tries again. Its funny to see! We are going to try and get a video of it this week and put it on the blog. Stay tuned. Here is Ben's 26 Week errrr 6 month picture:

25 Weeks and Two Teeth!!!

Ben cut his first two teeth a couple of weeks ago. The first one was no sweat. The second one...that hurt a little bit. He cried, moaned, whined and struggled, but it came in. This is actually one of the first pictures I managed to get of him showing them off. Its like he wanted to show everyone....perfect pose Ben!

Going Bananas (22 Weeks)

Sorry this is a little late for all you Ben lovers out there. Daddy has been really busy at work this week and this passed weekend flew by!!!! As you may know, Ben is on solid foods for one meal a day. It might actually be two meals a day, but who knows...I'm just the Dad who does the blog posts around here. Anyways, Ben tried a LOVED bananas for the first time last week! LOVED THEM!!!! He smacked his lips with every bite. Miraculously, not much ended up on his cheeks as it usually does with the carrots. We also discovered that Ben doesn't like peas. In fact, they make him gag. Mommy had to get clever and hide them in the carrots. Shhh...don't tell Ben!

Fun pictures of BEN!

This morning I was in charge of Ben so hat Court could make up for sleep lost during the week (Ben now wakes up at 6:30 :-( Daddy had a good time with him. First I fed him and then he played on his play mat. Then I put him in his sit-down exer-saucer. He loves that thing. He looks funny playing in it. He really concentrates on pounding the toys! Here are some pictures:

PS: We discoverd today that Ben is starting to cut a tooth. He hasn't even complained!!!!! Pictures to follow....

21 Weeks Old!

No Ben, you are not old enough to drink yet!  It is 21 YEARS old not weeks!  Ben shows off more of his rolling over skills in this week's photo shoot.  He's becoming a pro.  This week he rolled back to his back from his stomach.  He's even starting to pop up on his knees!  It won't be long before we start saying, "where's Ben?"

Happy 4th of July!

Ben is 5 months old this week! As you saw on an earlier post, he learned how to roll over onto his stomach and even since then he has become a bit of a pro. This is evidenced in his 20 Week photo session as he began to rollover in the middle of the session. Its a good thing he has a patient photographer. Celebrating his 1st Fourth of July, we put Ben on a backdrop of Red, White and Blue!

A Side Note: We used to put Ben and his backdrop on our large ottoman, but this week we had to put him on the floor for fear he might roll over! We also had to tape the fabric to the floor because he moves it so much now!

19 Weeks (Beginning of Summer)

Its the first week of summer! What says summer like some watermelon? Ben is looking awfully hungry as eyes up those slices of watermelon. I hope he doesn't eat the fabric. Or maybe he is just looking at the new blog header featuring his picture?

Ben shows off his golf grip

It may have taken him 18 weeks to learn it but on the other hand he IS only 18 weeks old. Ben has been watching the U.S. Open with his Daddy this weekend. He has been quoted as saying, "I want to be just like Rory McIlroy when I grow up" and "Tiger who?"

Ben's 4 Month Check-up

On Wednesday, Ben had his third check-up with Dr. LaRosa. He was in a grouchy mood before we even got there. I think he knew he would be getting more yucky shots. But luckily, he made it through his exam without having a meltdown. Dr. LaRosa said he has exceptional social skills for his age and even recognized his name and turned his head when she called him.

I was given permission to start feeding him cereals, squash, green beans and sweet potato. I am a little hesistant to start giving him too much food because I still want him to need me! As you can see on a previous post, he has already started enjoying rice cereal. I might introduce oatmeal to him this week because poor little Benny has not pooped in three days. I am dreading that blow out!

Ben weighed in at 17 lbs 4 oz, which is 90th percentile. He measured 27 3/4 inches long, meaning he is over 100th percentile for height!

Fredonia Alumni BBQ

Teddy and Bridget hosted a Memorial Day cookout at their house to bring together the baby boom that has occured over the last few months among the Fredonia Alumni that remain friends. Some of those attended were older children, but among the babies were Brady Johnson (Joel), Kaiden Hockenberry (Derek), Sophia (Ted) and of course BEN STAMP! They were all born in the last 9 months. Here a sampling of the pictures taken that day:
